Upcoming Event: Keen Halloween

Live in Phoenix and love all things Halloween? Then you definitely want to check out Keen Halloween, a annual event starting on September 28th in Arizona. What is Keen Halloween you may ask? It's a two day celebration to help fellow enthusiasts get back to the basics and get more out their favorite spooky holiday.

This event will include workshops, entertainment, and a monster marketplace. All workshops and entertainment are included with a purchased ticket, just one of the delightful things at the event. If you want to get more inspired for the upcoming season, then Keen Halloween is the way to go!

Event founders Daniel and Dawna Davis of Peoria, AZ are Halloween enthusiasts, known for their Steam Crow brand monster illustrated products – and a passion for spooky art.  

“We want to promote the Halloween from our childhood  - with handmade decorations, costumes and art, gathering together with friends, and enjoying spooky entertainment and music,” said Daniel. “We couldn’t find an event like this, so we created it. It’s a chance for us to gather together spooky-inspired talent – artists, crafters, teachers and entertainers – who have a love for vintage Halloween.”

When: September 28 & 29

Time:  10am to 5pm

Where: Phoenix, Arizona at the Sano Fitness Studio -

Cost: You can be pre-order tickets now and save! Weekend passes are $15.30, Saturday only passes are $9.18, and Sunday only passes are $9.18. Children 12 & under are FREE!

Workshops are free for all ticketed attendees! Some of the workshops at Keen Halloween will feature how to make origami bat decorations, a thriller dance class, how to make a mad scientist display, how to build a floating ghost, and many more!

Keen Halloween also has exclusive Halloween products every year that can only be purchased at the event, like this spooky print seen below. Only 99 were made!

The Mission Creeps will providing spooky entertainment with a live show on Saturday Night for all the Keen attendees. If you would like to know more about the band check out this interview by Keen Halloween:

Other Halloween festivities that will take place at the event include an Iron Skull Costume Challenge, Scarecrow King Photo Booth, and a Evil Genius Costume Bar. For the Iron Skull Costume Challenge, three teams will showcase their awesome costuming and creative skills to win the Iron Skull team trophy. (Pictured below.)

If you're having costume troubles you can check out the Evil Genius Costume Bar where you can learn from the costuming experts offering ideas, advice, and inspiration on making a spooktacular costume! If you do come in costume, which is highly encouraged you can take a picture in the Scarecrow King Photo Booth with photographer, Thomas Healy of Blaquebox Photography.
